What is "occupational therapy?"
Occupational therapy (OT) focuses on helping individuals of all ages who are limited by an injury, disorder,
or disease participate independently in meaningful activities. Occupational therapists (OTs) work on the rehabilitation
team in hospitals, nursing homes, schools, private clinics, community, and home health settings. Specific areas they
address include: self care, home maintenance, work, school performance, and leisure. OTs work hand in hand with physical
therapists, speech pathologists, social workers, nurses, and doctors.
